Crafting A Lightsaber [Kaiyo & Master Potu Only]

Master Potu was in the council chambers Meditating as usual, He had remembered speaking to the blonde Miralukan girl that seemed troubled though he saw great potential in her. Master Potu knew that she had been training alot while he was doing his duties, Of course her being a Miraluka would seem rather interesting to Master Potu since his former master was a Miraluka. Master Potu had sensed it was time for this girl to receive her first Lightsaber. Master Potu began to head down towards the Padawan training chambers to seek out the Miraluka named Kaiyo.

Master Potu arrived in the Padawan Training Room, and had seen kaiyo training their he approached her, "Ready to craft your lightsaber young padawan, you are", Master Potu said. He had given her detailed instructions on how to craft a lightsaber, "Read this when you are ready to craft your lightsaber", on the list he gave her it stated:

1] You will need to choose your Hilt, and If you wish to have two lightsabers or a double-blade lightsaber you will need to notify your teacher which will be Master Potu for a short period of time, below will be a list of Hilts that you may choose from:

* Electrum- A lightsaber with a hilt forged from gold-like electrum was often called an "electrum lightsaber." The electrum finish gave the lightsaber a majestic, regal appearance.

* Curved- A standard design, curved hilts allowed more precise movements as well as reasonable flexibility in lightsaber combat. The curved hilt also provided a challenge when defending against it, because the wielder would strike a slightly different angle than with a normal hilt. It was also more complex and gave the maker a bigger challenge in aligning its crystals.

* Shoto Hilt- The hilt design used for the shorter Lightsabers. An example of a Shoto Hilt would be Yoda's small green lightsaber's. This is normally used for those of a smaller stature, or for those who'd like less damage, but, increased speed, and flexibility in their techniques.

2] You will also need an, Emitter Matrix- The emitter matrix was a crucial component of the lightsaber. A saber's blade was emitted out the handle through the emitter matrix which kept a tight magnetic grip on the beam and allowed it to reliably extend to a predetermined length.

3] The third item you will need is a, Focusing Lens- The focusing lens was a key component in the construction of a lightsaber hilt. These lenses further regulated the beam of a lightsaber, allowing the blade it produced to terminate at a given point. Different types of lenses yielded different properties in the lightsabers that they were built into; in addition, like most other parts of these weapons, they required skilled craftsbeings to produce though often they were available commercially or even salvageable. The types will be listed below:

* Vibration Lens- The vibration lens was a type of focusing lens used in the construction or upgrading of lightsabers. As its name suggested, the lens vibrated at a high rate of speed. This enabled the weapon to produce a more deadly, if less stable, beam.

* Adegan Lens- An Adegan lens was a type of lightsaber focusing lens that used Adegan crystals as the lens medium, although these were more commonly used as the weapon's primary crystal. Using the crystal's natural properties, the lens was able to produce a more energized blade.

* Beam Gem Lens- A Beam Gem lens was a type of lightsaber focusing lens that was manufactured primarily from beam gem crystals. These crystals commonly found use in optical computers, for example within navigation computers and, when used as a lightsaber lens, produced a highly focused blade.

* Ossus Dueling Lens- An Ossus dueling lens was a type of lightsaber focusing lens that was widely used at the Ossus Jedi Enclave. It was intended to create a highly focused blade for providing fine-tuned control over one's lightsaber.

* Pontite Lens- A Pontite lens was a lightsaber focusing lens created using a Pontite crystal. Although the rare crystal was typically used as a focusing crystal, as a lens it was capable of cooling both skin and tempers.

4] You will also need a crystal for your lightsaber, So choose wisely, Below is a convenient list of crystals that the Jedi Order received long ago from a well-known explorer that was particularly interested in Lightsabers he also stated their common affiliation, of course he passed away centuries ago.

"Your guide in constructing your lightsaber will I be, head to Ilum, will we when you feel you are ready", Master Potu said, He remained in the training room in case she wished to go immeditaly. Master Potu headed towards the front of the young padawans and began Meditating with them, and giving them some small lessons that could help make meditating more relaxing. Master Potu remembered when he took Atlas to the cave to receive his crystal, kaiyo will be the first padawan in years to go to the cave with Master Potu.

Kaiyo's eyes flickered along down the list, the impulsive girl was far to excited to take heed of the words written down. Kaiyo leapt up to her feet, brushing down her clothes. Kaiyo picked up her two blades and slid them down into their sheaths at her hips, the blonde girl bounded over to master Potu and grinned, waiting for him to look up. Kaiyo bowed in respect, her face overcome with excitement, 'Ready to go now master Potu'.

Kaiyo had trained hard, the girl was a strong believer in reaping what you sew; and Kaiyo was constantly trying to push herself that little bit further. Kaiyo had already decided she would craft two lightsabers. With excitement racing around her head the girl simply had to take deep breaths. So far Kaiyo figured her greatest obstacle in coming a Jedi would be how impulsive and emotional she was.

The small girl kept her head bowed at mast potu, awaiting his reply.

Master Potu could sense a great deal of excitement coming from the young Miraluka, He understood this, for many Jedi's Potu trained, acted very similiar when they heard they were going to receive their Lightsaber/s. It was the first time in awhile that Master Potu went to Ilum to help a student craft their lightsaber. "Me of my apprentice you remind, atlas when I went with him to get his lightsaber on ilum, he shared similiar feelings, though never show that much happiness again in his lifetime, he will", Master Potu said to Kaiyo, He stood up from Meditating and looked at Kaiyo, "Depart to ilum kaiyo, let us", Master Potu said as he started to head down towards the docking bay.

Master Potu and Kaiyo arrived at the docking bay, after a nice walk through the Dantooine fields, "See these creatures do you, its own personal feelings just like me and you, each one has, and if you look closer able to sense that each creature here carries the force you will be, for always carry the force, every creature will, intelligent or not", Master Potu exclaimed as he shut his eyes calmly and used a force power known as Animal Friendship so the creatures would not become hostile towards the two. "When the time comes, to calm creatures both large and small I may teach you the technique", Master Potu said as he saw great potential in the girl. They continued down the lucious fields until they reached the closest docking bay, When they arrived they were confronted politely from a Republic Officer, He kindly escorted them to a republic transport ship. "So Master Potu, Where are we heading enroute today?", asked the Pilot who Master Potu knew from previous travelling, He guided them onto the ship and began to head enroute to Ilum.

As Master Potu and Kaiyo were drifting in space heading enroute to Ilum, Master Potu felt it wise to teach the young padawan about the planet Ilum, "Listen well young padawan, and receive some knowledge about ilum, ilum is an icy planet, been around for centuries, that has, served and continues to serve as a tradition for all young padawans to receive their lightsabers, it has, when you enter the crystal cave, notice that it reacts to you, you will, anything this is common so fear not", Master Potu explained. "I know of many great jedi, come to these caves, that have, as I see in you most with much potential, this, your first step into the initiation of a jedi knight, will be, realize that as you progress you become stronger with the force, you will, but never forget, you must, let the force control you, do not, and as a source of power corrupt you, remember that the force is a gift a tool not, as to realize this, you come, become more strong willed, you too will, you young padawan I believe in, I trust, serve the good of the galaxy, you will, ho, know this, do I, because I can sense a kind person, sacrifice everything to serve for the good of the galaxy in you, that would", Master Potu said to the young Miraluka. They finally landed on just outside the crystal cave on Ilum, "[i]This surface once you lay your feet on, to the order you become a loyal jedi, greater responsibility indeed", Master Potu said as he awaited the young girl to take her first steps on the surface of Ilum and her first steps on the path of the Jedi Knight.
